History
AVI’s deep history in postal automation
dates more than twenty years. Formerly the Postal Automation
division of Firstlogic, Inc., we entered the postal market
in 1984, providing the USPS with enhanced software for its
letter mail systems.
AVI’s experience in the postal automation
marketplace has flourished through strong partnering efforts
and quality software solutions. We have supplied the US
Postal Service address assignment software since 1984 and
our Video Coding System since 2002, to support letter mail,
flats mail and parcel mail programs.
AVI entered the international postal
authority market in 1997, supplying our address assignment,
Video Coding System and directory generation software for
the benefit of Australia Post. Since that time, our
portfolio of services and solutions has been used throughout
the world -- supplying solutions to UK’s Royal Mail,
Sweden’s GLP, Saudi Arabia, and Deutsche Post.
In addition to the postal authority
market, AVI also has extensive ties to the US commercial
mailing market. Beginning with our earliest forays into the
US commercial marketplace in 1994, where we provided address
assignment, Video Coding Systems, and remote mail piece
image processing services, AVI has grown to become the
most-integrated machine-print address assignment software in
the industry.
We integrate our software with several
OCR packages, deploying on a variety of Multi-Line Optical
Character Recognition (MLOCR) systems. This Open Systems
approach and flexibility is unmatched by our competition,
leading to our software being the leading address assignment
solution available in the US marketplace for MLOCR systems.
AVI’s most recent software for Commercial
MLOCR systems in the US, Postal Reporter provides additional
sortation schemes and capabilities that have never before
been available to MLOCR mail processors. It also provides
full reporting and tracking in line with USPS Domestic Mail
Manual requirements and the USPS Seamless Acceptance
program. |
